01 · Buyer questions
Starting a Sourcing Project
A useful first conversation begins with the result you want and the information you already have.
Who is GBPH 4x4 for?
We work with overseas brands, importers, distributors, ecommerce businesses and specialist 4×4 workshops discussing off-road accessories, truck utility, overlanding equipment and original-design components. Tell us your product, destination market and buying stage so we can confirm whether the request fits our sourcing scope.
Are you a factory, an online shop or a sourcing partner?
GBPH 4x4 is a sourcing partner. We help research potential suppliers and coordinate manufacturer questions, quotations, samples and agreed follow-up. Manufacturing is performed by the selected factory. The seller, invoicing party and purchasing arrangements are identified in the written project terms.
Can you start with a photo, a product link or an unfinished idea?
Yes. Explain the product or outcome, any changes you want and the approximate quantity if known. A photograph can start the discussion; dimensions, installation interfaces or an authorized drawing may be needed before a manufacturer can give a useful custom quote. Mark undecided points as questions.
Do you only support the 20 vehicles shown on the website?
The vehicle guides are starting points. If your model or part is not listed, send the make, model, model year, trim and relevant installation details. For a universal product, describe its dimensions and intended use instead. We review whether the request can be supported for the actual project.
02 · Buyer questions
Costs, Quantities & Timing
Compare the same requirement and separate development work from repeat production.
What information helps you scope the work and fees?
Describe the part, current buying stage, available drawings or references, quantity range, destination and the specific help needed. We agree the commissioned tasks, deliverables, service fee and completion point before that work starts. Sample, tooling, factory and outside-provider charges are clarified as applicable.
Can you help with a prototype or a small first order?
Share the trial quantity and likely production direction. Manufacturers may offer a prototype route, a pilot batch or an existing product with a different minimum quantity. MOQ depends on the process, material, tooling, finish and variant. A prototype price is not a promise of the later production unit price.
How long will sourcing, samples and production take?
Timing is confirmed against the actual scope and manufacturer response. Separate quotation review, drawing clarification, prototype work, revisions, production and shipment handover. Ask what starts each quoted lead time, what the buyer must approve and whether the date means factory readiness, dispatch or delivery.
How should you compare two supplier offers?
Use the same drawing revision, quantity, finish, installation kit contents and packaging basis. Record sample and tooling costs separately, then clarify the named delivery point and excluded charges. An offer with missing items is not directly comparable with a complete kit. Use the quote planner to organize known costs.
Can you request one stage of support or work with your existing supplier?
Yes. Describe the decision you need to resolve: a quotation question, drawing change, sample issue, packaging instruction or repeat-order update. A focused assignment can be scoped around that stage. Confirm the supplier contact, current records, access permissions and the output you want before the work begins.
03 · Buyer questions
Drawings, Customization & Private Label
Keep the intended design, manufacturer questions and permitted changes connected.
What files can you send for a custom part?
The inquiry form accepts one PDF, JPG or PNG up to 10 MB. Use a file link for CAD files or a larger project folder. Where available, include an authorized drawing, revision, units, critical dimensions, material and finish. A high-level description is the better first step for a restricted design.
What if you only have a sketch or physical sample?
Explain what must match and what you want to change. A sample may need measurement and an agreed design brief before a manufacturer can quote or make a replacement design. Clarify who provides any drawing or engineering work, what that work includes and who approves it.
Can an existing accessory be adapted or supplied under your brand?
We can coordinate manufacturer questions about dimensions, mounting arrangements, materials, finishes, branding, kit contents and packaging. Some changes require a new drawing, tooling, minimum quantity or sample round. Record the approved product version and packaging artwork separately so a branding request does not conceal a product change.
How are confidential drawings and tooling ownership handled?
Raise confidentiality requirements before sharing detailed files. Agree which documents may be sent to which manufacturers and whether an NDA is required. Before commissioning tooling or development, clarify ownership, storage, access, maintenance, release conditions and the files or physical items to be handed over.
04 · Buyer questions
Fitment, Samples & Quality Checks
Use the right evidence for the feature being approved.
Does a vehicle guide confirm that a part fits your exact vehicle?
A guide identifies a sourcing direction, rather than a verified compatibility result for a particular product. Confirm the exact year, generation, body, trim and mounting interfaces, including relevant existing modifications. Vehicle trial-fit evidence and the approved sample should cover the configuration you plan to sell or install.
What should be checked before a sample is approved?
Define the sample purpose, current drawing revision and acceptance criteria first. Depending on the part, checks may cover mounting dimensions, material records, finish, fasteners, kit completeness, packaging and installation clearance. Record findings, photos and unresolved deviations, then identify who can approve, revise or hold the sample.
Does a visual inspection prove load capacity or certification?
A visual or dimensional check supports the agreed inspection scope. It does not establish structural performance, a load rating or destination-market approval. Where those matters apply, identify the responsible engineering reviewer, test method, provider and required evidence before making product claims or releasing production.
Can you arrange an independent inspection?
We can coordinate an independent provider when it is included in the agreed project scope. Confirm the inspection stage, sample size, checks, acceptance basis, report format, cost and who authorizes release. Findings that need rework, retesting or another visit should be tracked through a separate decision.
05 · Buyer questions
Orders, Delivery & Follow-up
Keep the approved version and handover evidence available after the first order.
What should be confirmed before production starts?
Identify the released drawing and BOM, material, finish, quantity per SKU, packaging version, sample approvals and remaining conditions. Record production checkpoints, payment milestones, delivery scope and the people authorized to approve changes. A later supplier substitution or design revision should trigger a documented review.
How are freight and shipping responsibilities agreed?
Clarify the named collection or delivery point, transport scope, packing measurements and responsibility for the documents and charges. Freight, destination handling and import arrangements depend on the order and agreed terms. State whether the requested date concerns factory readiness, shipment departure or arrival at the destination.
What should you provide if there is a quality or packing issue?
Send the order and item references, affected quantity, batch or carton labels, photos, relevant measurements and a description of the finding. Link it to the approved specification or sample. We can coordinate supplier follow-up within the agreed scope; remedies, costs and decisions depend on the written order terms and evidence.
What makes a repeat order easier to control?
Retain the approved drawing revision, BOM, master sample reference, finish details, kit contents, packaging files and previous findings. Reconfirm the quantity, current commercial terms and any supplier or process changes. Repeat ordering should refer to an identified product version rather than relying only on an old photograph.
Have a Question About Your Own Project?
Send the part, application and next decision you need help with. A short description is enough to begin; drawings, quantities and delivery details can be clarified as the project develops.
